Principled design
Inevitech systems are designed with the following principles in mind.
Independence
Open source technology should be utilised wherever possible for independence, freedom of action and granular control over performance, cost and accessibility.
Custom
Hardware should be built to meet specific requirements, ensure the highest levels of performance, achieve cost effective density, lower carbon impact and maintain freedom from big tech hardware lock in.
Simplicity
We distil complexity into simplicity and make sophisticated technology accessible. We focus on that which is important and refuse to add anything unnecessary.
Flexibility
Flexibility is integral to design, to enable us to iterate and evolve easily in meeting new challenges and for our customers in respect of both usage and deployment.
Interoperability
Interoperability is essential. We do not want to dictate how our customers operate and we aim to remain open to collaboration with other systems and ways of working.

Virtualised GPU Accelerated Resources
Our core ‘Inevidesk’ technology is designed to provide highly performant and cost accessible virtualised GPU resources: for workstation level VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure), local AI compute and rendering requirements.
We use an open source hypervisor layer and bespoke configuration to deliver virtualised access to high performance GPUs which may be dedicated or shared depending on requirements and configured with the relevantly specified CPU, RAM and storage resources.
Our virtualised resources are provisioned on bespoke built hardware – pods – or via our hosted Inevidesk: Flex service.
Management of virtual machines is undertaken via our administration portal (see below).
Pod hardware
We can provide custom built hardware for customer requirements. Our virtualised GPU resources are provided in ‘pods’: servers specifically designed and built for maximum performance and value. These may include high clock speed Threadripper CPUs, DDR5 RAM and fast, enterprise level redundant SSD storage, with redundant power and connectivity options.
We aim to achieve excellent density with our pod hardware, minimising expensive server rack real estate whilst maximising performance with an effectively balanced mix of over provisioned and dedicated elements.
Our pods have been assessed as having a 65% lower carbon impact than similarly specified standalone physical workstations.
Inevidesk may also be run on partner provided hardware where this is compatible.
Administration Portal
Inevidesk services are managed through the Inevitech administration portal: an independently built management layer for the platform. Our portal is designed to provide an intuitive interface and make management of the virtual estate efficient and painless. This includes:
- User Management
- Active Directory syncing or Entra ID integration for SSO and cross-platform user management
- Permission levels and group management
- Virtual machine assignment
- Virtual machine management
- Template creation
- Rapid virtual machine creation via cloning

IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service)
Our IaaS services are available for Inevidesk customers who wish to host their private cloud with us.
These services include:
- Open source hypervisor
- Software firewall (Mikrotik)
- Secure private virtual network
- Base images for Windows or Linux servers
- Fast enterprise level SSD storage for production data and services provided with replication across three physical servers using ceph block storage.
- Slower, SATA disk-based archive storage with zfs and a redundancy of raidz2.
- Site-to-site (S2S) VPNs for secure, direct access to offices and other sites, client VPNs and other VPN options as required
- Dual and diverse power and connectivity
- Hosting in a Level 4 datacentre with high levels of physical security, environmental management, 100% green energy and leading 1.05 PUE
- Visibility of servers and resources via the Inevitech administration portal
Customers may host their own physical firewall and colocate any of their own equipment should that be a requirement.
We offer the same level of performance and redundancy with dedicated hardware.
Connect to your virtual workstations with Parsec
We have a long standing partnership with Parsec, who currently provide the highest performing remote desktop connection on the market.
Best for image and colour clarity, support of multiple monitors up to 4K and able to work at far distances and over low bandwidth.
